Hi all,
For those of you who are used to having special training in June, I'm planning to hold a 12 hour mountain practice on June 25. I know this is short notice, but hopefully many of you who are interested in this sort of thing would be willing and ready to jump into this at any time. This practice is open to everyone who is healthy and who feels like they are in good shape, beginners included. Please make sure that if you want to participate, that you have some knowledge of Bassai and Tekki Shodan.
Here are the details:
Where:
We meet at the base of
Mission Peak
Map of
Stanford Ave At Vinehill Ter
Fremont, CA 94536
When:
Saturday June 25 at 6 am - approx. 7 pm
(sometimes the Park is closed in the Summer and Fall due to fire danger, I will make sure that if this happens near June 25, that I will cancel the practice and contact everyone)
What to bring:
backpack (one that you can run with)
4-6 liters of water and/or gatorade
sunscreen
food/snacks
hat (optional)
sunglasses (optional)
good pair of running shoes
clothing should be comfortable (shorts or light sweats - not Gi)
toiletpaper
plastic bags (for garbage and biowaste)
Practice details:
Be prepared to run up Mission Peak (3 miles, 2000 ft elevation gain, about a 1 hr run).
The rest will cover a variety of successive practices with short food and bio-breaks inbetween.
Please let me know if you are interested in this practice by sending me an e-mail by June 13. I need a headcount of at least 10 interested individuals, otherwise I will not hold this practice (I think last year we had 11 or 12 participants). Hope to hear from a lot of you.
Cheers,
Danny Afar
